Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? Make the Grade
Ages: Everyone

I thought the sequel would be - Are You Smarter Than A 6th Grader? . That way, in an amusing fashion, THQ could be advancing the knowledge of our populace. Maybe the time is ripe for more responsibility in the game industry for entertainment spiced with improvement.

This one is pretty much more of the same, there are 3,000 new questions and they span from first to the fifth grade, you get to choose a classmate as a partner and you still can cheat by peeking or copying. Some questions seem to be more subtle - taking on an SAT tone. The format is that of the online game show with a simulation of host Jeff Fox. For grown-ups it's a trip down memory lane and an experience in how much we may have forgotten since those days.

The game is now on the Wii, DS and the PS2 and that is what makes the difference. All of these offer some sort of multiplayer play and that is the main reason for playing this game - otherwise it is just brain training.

The multiplayer option might give an interest combat session in knowledge rather than guns, and as a party game it's good for embarrassing the players with the added new distraction of paper airplanes and spitballs. Have some booby prizes in hand.

Fun Factor: Moderate - better with multiplayer
Female Factor: Evenhanded
Player Friendly: No manual
